While I was planning a trip to Europe, I was imagining how the process of planning a trip could be improved using crowd-sourced information and a personalized experience.
After using different travel sites to plan my own trip to Europe, I found it hard to make decisions about where to go and what to do based on the information provided. How long should I spend at this museum? How far is this restaurant from the my hotel? These were questions I routinely asked that required a lot of research. I decided to experiement with designing an app that could accurately build an itinerary by combining a user's preferences with the opinions of other travelers.
How much can a travel app do before reaching technical limitations? I enjoyed seeing how much functionality I could pack into the experience -- whether it be leading a user in real-time to their destination or allowing them to reorder their itinerary by dragging and dropping.
